First off, I want to tell you it’s been a crazy ride for us over the past 6 months. It’s our first business too and we’re learning A LOT as we go along. One of the most important things we’ve learned is that our members want to know what is going on with LittleEngine. So starting today begins a new initiative to provide more transparency between what goes on behind the scenes here and what you end up seeing.
We want everyone connected to LittleEngine to feel part of the community and part of the process. We are building this site for you and as a result we want to make sure our business owners and members are satisfied with the product. One of the things I am really pleased to announce is that today we are giving all new and existing business owners blogs on their page! The blog has a small feature set for now, but we are working hard to make improvements; such as comments, easy text formatting, images, etc.
We’re hoping that this will allow all your customers and friends to stay up-to-date with your business. You can use the blog however you'd like, make as many posts as you want, the most important thing is that you tell everyone about your business. Here at LittleEngine we use our blog to keep all of our members informed about LittleEngine. Furthermore, when you publish a blog post, all your fans who've subscribe to your small business RSS are notified, as well as, a notification in your small business public feed! So what are you waiting for?! Get started!
Obviously your small business has to be a signed-up for LittleEngine, you can do so here. Next, after you've confirmed your small business, just login, go to "Your Account" in the header, select "Edit" next to your business name, and look for the "Blog" link in the sub-header. From there you can publish, delete, and edit your blog posts.
Now you have the opportunity to share with your members things that you know and understand. We use our blog to share a lot of really strong advice that we’ve learned from a lot of really bright people. We try to give our members (business owners) advice on branding themselves, keeping their customers happy, and marketing just to name a few. These are things we discuss because these are things that we know and understand.
We’ve emphasized time and time again that the way to distinguish yourself as a business owner is to become an expert in your field. Chances are if you own your own business, you know you’re own field pretty well. If that’s the case, why not share that information with your customers? It will not only show them how bright you are, but it will also build trust between you and your customers. When you share your knowledge, it demonstrates to your your customers that you are honest and that you have nothing to hide.
