Time to add a new one: Participation
We've built a framework of how potential/current clients, partners as well as employees can get together, share and participate with LittleEngine, as well as, with each other. Participation is what keeps the internet moving, but at the same time, it's a great foundation for your small business' branding.
Here is our participation framework:
- We are very active on our own social network LittleEngine, the small business social network. You can message any of the LittleEngine team, for example J.J. or I (Brian), for help, questions, service issues, problems, requests, etc.
- We participate and post regularly on Twitter and Tumblr, both micro-blogging formats which help us spread the word on new features, blog posts, our employees favorite links, and other useful nuggets of information to our followers. Followers are people who've agreed they enjoy our message so much, that they would like to hear more.
- We have a Facebook Group that allows us to get close to partners, investors, and other high-profile fans of LittleEngine. It's a forum of sorts, that help us iron out details.
- We post content and participate as much as possible on the SmallBusinessBrief, Sphinn, Digg, Reddit, and other niched social news and media websites. These places are superb for getting your name and story to the masses without advertising, but please don't spam, or you won't see positive results. As always, when selecting a social media website, try to niche as far down as possible!
We participate throughout the web, but as you've read, you have to have some guidelines or your social media actions will be futile.
